Itinerary DIY Egypt and Petra

Many people visit Egypt in a packaged tour along with other people or a private trip depending on the budget. I am not a fan of a packaged tour and I’d like to have my itineraries customized to what I’d like to do. Yes, I am that picky with itinerary. So here I want to show you that you can create your own Egypt itinerary and it can be done without having to sign up for a packaged tour if you are not a fan of one like me.

To be able to do this I get a help from local Egyptian travel called Aswan Individual owned by Waleed. Even though Waleed is based in Aswan he can arrange tours and cars for us in other cities as well. Waleed got helped from Rachel who is in charge of all the correspondence with the tourist while Waleed is the man on the ground who organizes the guides, cars etc. Rachel is very responsive with her emails while I am fixing our itinerary and once we landed in Egypt we start communication with Waleed using Whats app messages. I picked and chose which day I’d need help from Aswan Individual and which day I will organize on my own and it worked perfect. I get the itinerary which covers everything we want to do in private group setting and have days where we can do things on our own pace.

I went on this trip with my Besties celebrating our 10+ years of friendship. It is a tight pack itinerary because we want to do so many but we don’t have much time as we really can’t leave our families and work for too long.

This itinerary covers all Egypt must see and do and we also flew to Jordan on our last days to visit Petra (One Bestie insisted that Petra is her long-life dream so it has to be in the itinerary). There are other places worth visiting in Jordan but as we don’t have much time we focus on Petra only.
