Most of us wish to be happy in life. And many find it difficult to find it… Maybe, because we are not really realized that this happines that we seek actually kept inside within ourself.

Using scientific approach, actually happiness is the work of 4 hormones. Serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, and oxytocin help promote happiness and pleasure while reducing depression and anxiety.

So understanding about these happy hormones could help us to actually hack our happines and say good byes to depression 😉 !

Serotonin is our mood stabilizer that improve sleep and reduce anxiety. To stimulate Serotonin we could do Exercise – Do Some Cardio, Healthy Diet – Such as Eggs, Salmon, Cheese and Meditation. Simply get some sunshine also help to stimulate this hormone.

Dopamine is the “feel good” neurotransmitter that drive your brain’s reward system. It plays a role as a “reward center” and in many body functions, including memory, movement, motivation, mood, attention and more. So having two very active childs which attention deficit issue, this Dopamine is quite important. To stimulate Dopamine we could Engage in activities that make you happy or feel relaxed such as listen to upbeat music, eat sweets (eg : Chocolates, Apples), Complete small tasks, and get a good night’s sleep.

Oxytocin is the “love hormone”, released when we feel bonds, connected, and closeness to people. Having loving partner, wonderful children, cute pets, and great besties are ways to ensure we got enough Oxytocin. To stimulate this hormon we need skinship such as cudlling, hold hand, petting, hugging.

Endorphin is the brain’s natural pain killer, it reduces stress and increase pleasure (the body’s natural morphine). We can boost out Endorphin by Running Exercise and Watch Comedy.

Understanding the importance of these happy chemicals in the brain and body and their impact on mental health means you can take active steps to improve their levels naturally.
