Bira beach has a good potential of a perfect beach, it has white and soft sands and a clear blue sea with a long shallow surface. However it is disappointing like many other public beach in Indonesia, they are not taken care of properly. Th rubbish amounted on the beach was not clean up on daily basis and there are far too many local stalls by the beach. Accommodation in Bira beach area was priced around IDR 75K to 500K. 30 hours without electricity in Bira Amatoa resort

The wind had somehow developed into a storm by night time. The wind was so ferocious, it literally bang on our door. At around midnight the electricity was cut out in the whole area. Turned out that the hotel genset was broken and we were stranded with no electricity for 30 hours! In the morning the wind finally stopped blowing and the sea was calmer. Amatoa Resort had direct access to the sea. Seeing that the sea was calmer at low tide, Hubby and I decided to take a dip. Amatoa Resort

Day 3 wasn’t so pleasant with the wind blowing pretty hard on the beach.  See below how our hair got swept by the wind! We checked out from our accommodation in Bara Beach around 11am and use the hotel car to drive us to Amatoa resort (cost IDR 50K to Tanjung Bira). And if I thought it was windy on Bara Beach, the wind was even stronger at Amatoa Resort because it was perched on a cliff straight to the ocean. Island hop to Kambing and Liukang Loe islands

The weather was nice when we woke up so we quickly told the hotel to confirm our island hopping trip. We have booked a boat thru hotel to take us to kambing and liukang island for 600K. The rate to go to liukang is only 350K but I thought we may as well saw Kambing island. It took 30 minutes to reach Kambing island and when we got there the wave was big. Bara Beach

Bara beach is as beautiful as I expected. The sands is white and as soft as flour and the beach is calm. The sea has 3 gradation of colors. We hit the beach as soon as we checked in to Bara Beach Bungalow. Fabio playing on the beach. This was taken late afternoon, almost low tide and very little wave.
